WMBF News reports that MURRELLS INLET, SC (WMBF) - Two Republican candidates are advancing to a runoff election for South Carolina’s attorney general race.
Stephen Goldfinch and David Stumbo will face off in the runoff election on June 23.
Goldfinch was leading by more than 20,000 votes at last check.
He attributed the results to his campaign efforts, which included hosting more than 320 events since last July.
Tuesday evening, Goldfinch held a watch party at The Beaver Bar in Murrells Inlet as a way to remain close to his hometown roots of Horry County.
“We’re feeling great, last time I looked, we’re 20,000 votes of the next guy in the race, and so I’m just honored and humbled to be in this position,” Goldfinch said.
