(WBTV) - A television icon is the latest star to become part owner of a NASCAR team.
Guy Fieri recently joined Legacy Motor Club as a “strategic owner,” the team announced on Thursday, June 25.
Fieri is of course known for his Food Network programs, including the popular show “Diner, Drive-Ins and Dives.” He is joining a NASCAR team steeped in history with seven-time champions Jimmie Johnson and Richard Petty already partners.
“Motorsports and race cars have always had that raw energy I love -- the people, the passion, the culture, the speed,” Fieri said in a news release.
“Legacy Motor Club is building something different, and I wanted to be part of it.
