WBTW News13 reports that (WKRN) — The Tennessee Titans and Jeffery Simmons have agreed to a deal that will make him the highest-paid defensive tackle in NFL history.
The news was confirmed by Todd France with Athletes First, the agency that represents Simmons.
According to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, the extension is worth $105.8 million over three years — $35.3 million per year — with $100 million guaranteed.
It's the first deal in league history that includes $100 million guaranteed for a defensive tackle.
"Tennessee has become a second home for me," Simmons said.
"From day one, this organization believed in me, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to continue to pour into this franchise and community.
