WMBF News reports that TIMMONSVILLE, SC (WMBF) - A Pee Dee police department is looking for a new police chief.
The Town of Timmonsville announced that it is accepting applications for a new Chief of Police.
Chief James Allen has led the department for three years, and town officials are seeking for someone with the same dedication as him.
“Timmonsville is a small town where everybody knows everybody, and we’re looking for a person that’s actually community-oriented,” said Timmonsville Mayor William James Jr.
“Therefore, in doing that, we also look for a professional that actually has experience and knows the job and knows what all being the chief entails.” James says several applicants have already applied, but many have wondered what the next steps are “Chief will be here for another two weeks,” said James.
“July 1st, I think, will be his last day here, but at that time we still have a captain, and it’s business as usual.
