WMBF News reports that DILLON COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - An armed and dangerous officer-involved shooting suspect has been captured in Dillon after an overnight manhunt.
The Dillon Police Department announced the arrest of Steve Mason, Jr., of Marion, early Friday morning, after police say he was located at a home in Dillon.
Police said Mason was taken into custody without incident.
The department announced Mason was wanted and considered to be armed and dangerous on Thursday night.
Mason was wanted in connection with pointing and presenting a firearm at a local convenience store in the area of East Harrison Street and U.S.
Officials say when officers attempted to take Mason into custody, gunfire was exchanged, and an officer was hit by gunfire.
