WMBF News reports that MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Local leaders gathered to enhance the small business pipeline and connect business owners with resources they might not know exist.
Dozens of people attended the South Carolina Small Business Hospitality and Tourism Summit, where owners heard about changes that could affect their businesses and learned ways to make those businesses stronger.
The Department of Commerce, IRS, Small Business Administration, and Small Business Development Center were among the agencies at the summit.
Leaders said it’s important for resource partners to be available so business owners can have face-to-face conversations and get questions answered that they might not be able to address on a regular day.
“I think as for the presenters on the government side for the state, federal and local, they leave contact information where that business owner can get continuing education basically,” said Ronald Spencer.
The summit focused on building partnerships between small business owners and government agencies, while connecting those in the hospitality and tourism industry with resources designed to help them succeed.
