WBTW News13 reports that (NEXSTAR) – The Trump administration’s refurbishment of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool may have run into another snag, according to photos and videos circulating online.
In addition to green algae that bloomed in the Reflecting Pool in recent weeks, photos from the site now appear to show some type of paint — or perhaps a sealant, or lining — peeling off underneath the water.
“I want my money back, after seeing this,” one visitor told Reuters after observing a partially connected portion of the coating floating toward the surface.
“I think that it was a huge waste of money to begin with.” Footage captured by Nexstar appears to show a portion of the lining missing underneath the pool’s waters.
Numerous videos shared to social media platforms including TikTok and X had documented similar peeling in recent days.
One X user even submerged an underwater camera to find out how extensive the peeling might be.
