WMBF News reports that SCOTLAND COUNTY, NC (WMBF) - The Scotland County Sheriff’s Office conducted Operation Spring Clean Up with help from a neighboring agency and the U.S.
The operation is part of a requirement where officers must check on sex offenders at least twice a year.
“There’s approximately 145 right now on the sex offender register here in the county,” said Lt.
Byrd of the Scotland County Sheriff’s Office.
“I’m actually; this morning I was working on two other offenders.
One offender had moved from Florida up here, and another offender was just released from prison yesterday.” The operation verified 115 sex offenders as compliant, 6 as non-compliant, and resulted in 4 arrests.
