WMBF News reports that HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - Boat inspections will be held across the state in an effort to keep people and waterways safe during the Fourth of July weekend.
The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources Law Enforcement Division will conduct courtesy boat inspections at public boat landings across the state, including the Grand Strand, during the July Fourth weekend.
SCDNR boating safety and enforcement officers will perform inspections for required safety equipment and proper boat and motor registrations.
The inspections are scheduled Friday through Sunday, from 10 a.m.
Boaters who are not in compliance with safety regulations or registration requirements will not be ticketed.
Instead, officers will allow them to correct any issues before launching.
