(WIS) - An expansion to paid parental leave in South Carolina is now heading to Gov.
The South Carolina House of Representatives gave final approval Thursday to the bill, which will grant four weeks of paid parental leave to state employees who become co-parents, foster parents and adopt.
Employees at public colleges and universities, as well as technical colleges, are also eligible for the paid leave as part of the bill.
South Carolina currently provides two weeks of paid leave for non-birth parents, which the bill would change upon a signature from Gov.
It’s unclear when or if the governor will sign the bill.
