WMBF News reports that MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - A South Carolina native turned his small-town roots and love for music into a spot on Carolina Country Music Fest’s lineup for a second year in a row.
Rut Spence is a country rock singer-songwriter from Lexington who grew up on a small horse farm.
His band made their debut on the Coors Banquet stage at CCMF in 2025, and this year they will perform on the second biggest stage at CCMF.
Spence and family spent many summers in Myrtle Beach, and he’s walked through the CCMF gates several times to watch some of his favorite artists.
“To be a part of this festival again is just a dream come true,” Spence said.
It’s the one I went to when I was younger and used to say one day I’m gonna play on that stage, and it’s surreal to be playing on bigger stages out there where I used to go see these artists and still see amazing artist at.” Spence grew up hunting, fishing, playing with his brother, and singing in the church choir.
