FLORENCE — Lynches River County Park’s family campgrounds are pet friendly, but it recently opened up a new campsite to accommodate a different type of furry friend: horses The equestrian industry accrues $1.9 billion in South Carolina alone, with tens of thousands of horses in the state, according to Parks and Recreation Director Nathan Dawsey.
“You can imagine Florence has a fairly large footprint of its own that makes up that number,” Dawsey said.
