WMBF News reports that (FOX Carolina) — Greenville City Dispatch officials confirmed units responded to a shooting at Haywood Mall on Saturday.
Police said that at about 1:11 p.m., an officer stationed at the mall heard what sounded like gunshots in the plaza between Macy’s and Belk.
The officer went to the area and found a woman who had been shot in the foot, then went to Belk and found a man with a gunshot wound to the shoulder and neck.
The Greenville Police Department said both victims were taken to a hospital and were in stable condition.
Several people were detained, and officers worked to clear the mall with help from the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office.
Police said no additional shots were fired after officers arrived and that the scene was contained.
