WMBF News reports that MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - A police report provides more details about a threat that prompted a large law enforcement response at Myrtle Beach High School.
The Myrtle Beach Police Department report says a school resource officer was notified around 10:45 a.m.
June 2, about a suspicious telephone threat while patrolling the high school.
PREVIOUS COVERAGE: Hold lifted after threatening phone call prompts police response at Myrtle Beach High School The report says an unknown caller anonymously called the high school and told staff he was on his way to “shoot up the school.” The school resource officer then took over communications to gather information, including a name, a description, and a motive, according to the report.
The caller told police he wanted to be “TikTok famous,” but did not appear to know anyone or have ties to the school, the report states.
The caller described himself as a white male wearing a black shirt, black pants, and a cap, according to the report.
