WMBF News reports that HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - A shoplifting call at a Myrtle Beach-area gun store Thursday ended with a meth trafficking arrest.

Deputies with the Horry County Sheriff’s Office responded to Palmetto State Armory on Frontage Road East after employees reported two suspects trying to steal a gun sight.

Investigators identified the suspects as Joseph Blaine Cook, 21, and a 17-year-old girl.

When deputies searched both suspects at the scene, they recovered the stolen sight, an “unregistered handgun,” a magazine, and ammunition.

Deputies also found drugs and drug paraphernalia on Cook, according to the sheriff’s office.

Cook was charged with trafficking meth and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
