WMBF News reports that HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - The Horry County Police Department said farewell to one of their four-legged officers as he entered retirement.
K-9 Ori was honored with a retirement party on Tuesday afternoon.
Ori is 10 years old and has served the department and the community for 8 1/2 years.
“This dog is probably- he’s up there at the top as one of the best K-9s I’ve ever worked with,” said Lt.
“I know a lot of other officers say the same.” During his time with the department, Ori kept the community safe in more ways than one.
He tracked 16 individuals, who Dulina says were violent, and found more than four pounds of cocaine, five pounds of methamphetamine, one hundred pounds of marijuana, and $98,000.
