WMBF News reports that MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - With the July 4th holiday weekend just days away, gas prices in Myrtle Beach are trending up, even as the national average heads in the opposite direction.

Average gasoline prices in Myrtle Beach rose 11.1 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.44 per gallon Monday, according to GasBuddy’s survey of 197 stations.

While prices increased week over week, GasBuddy said they are still lower than last month.

The report said prices in Myrtle Beach are 42.0 cents per gallon lower than a month ago but stand 62.9 cents per gallon higher than a year ago.

The survey showed a wide range of prices locally.

GasBuddy reported the cheapest station in Myrtle Beach was priced at $3.23 per gallon Sunday, while the most expensive was $4.29 per gallon, a difference of $1.06.
