WMBF News reports that - Thousands of rubber ducks will race for charity at the Grand Pond in the Market Common area in July during the first-ever Myrtle Duck Festival.
The family-friendly event on July 25 will feature live music, a Big Duck Truck Show, food trucks, and a helicopter duck drop to start the race.
Several local nonprofits are participating in the duck race, including the Carolina Forest Kiwanis Club, Make-A-Wish South Carolina, Habitat for Humanity of Horry County, and SOS Care.
Eric Vizzini, president of the Carolina Forest Kiwanis Club, said the event will benefit the children his organization serves.
“It’s such a great event and for us to be able to benefit from something like this,” Vizzini said.
“We love doing what we do to help the children in Carolina Forest and being able to have the means in any way possible to do that.
