WMBF News reports that MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - The city of Myrtle Beach is mapping out its short-term financial future.
City Council approved a $384 million budget for fiscal year 2027 at Tuesday’s meeting.
The fiscal year begins July 1, and the spending plan is a 6.5% increase from fiscal year 2026.
“The city is in a good financial position with a strong fund balance (more than $40 million), which helps provide financial security in case of an economic or environmental event (hurricane, etc.) that would impact the city’s incoming revenue,” the city said in a Facebook post.
City officials said the budget does not include a business license increase.
The plan includes minor adjustments to solid waste and water and sewer fees, which the city said total less than $7 a month for residential customers.
