FLORENCE — A Florence hospital now has a specialized unit to provide care for children experiencing acute psychiatric crises.

McLeod Regional Medical Center recently opened its EmPATH (Emergency Psychiatric Assessment, Treatment, and Healing) Unit, a pediatric behavioral health crisis stabilization unit.
