WMBF News reports that HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - A Conway man will spend the next decade in prison after pleading guilty to sexually assaulting a 12-year-old child.

Daniel Orlando, 29, pleaded guilty Tuesday to second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor after a jury had already been selected for his trial, according to George Martin, III, an assistant solicitor for the 15th Circuit Solicitor’s Office.

A judge sentenced Orlando to 10 years in prison, and he will not be eligible for parole.

After his release, Orlando must register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.

The offense is classified as violent and most serious under South Carolina law.

Orlando sexually assaulted the 12-year-old victim on June 7, 2024.
