WMBF News reports that ROBESON COUNTY, NC (WMBF) - The discovery of a dead woman has resulted in an arrest.
On Friday, authorities said that an investigation by the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office and Lumberton Police Department resulted in Anthony Ray McDonald, 37, of Lumberton, being charged with murder, kidnapping, larceny of a motor vehicle, arson, altering, destroying, or stealing evidence.
He was arrested after a chase near his home.
Deputies said that on Wednesday, Nancy Ellen Lowery, 68, of Lumberton, was reported missing by family members.
An investigation took place in the area near 7th Street Road, John Henry Lee Road, and Highway 41 North in Lumberton.
Investigators said they found Lowery’s car, which had been burned in a cemetery near Hwy 41 N.
