Lawsuit alleges Horry County HOA was negligent in neighborhood pig attack

WMBF News reports that HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - A lawsuit is detailing an alleged attack involving an escaped pig.

Horry County resident Paul Saucy filed a lawsuit last Thursday against the Maple Ridge Estates HOA as well as residents Derek and Blair Davis.

The lawsuit claims that the Davis’s owned a pig named Lulu that got out of their yard through a broken fence in October 2024.

The suit alleges that while on the public road and sidewalk within the HOA area, the escaped pig attacked him after he tried to help return it to their yard.

In the lawsuit, it says that Saucy claims that Davis’s shouldn’t have owned a pig and should have restrained the animal so that it couldn’t cause any danger.

Saucy also claims they should have warned people that there was an “aggressive pig” in the home.
