WMBF News reports that MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - A man was found guilty of homicide by child abuse in the death of his toddler on Monday.
A Dillon County jury convicted Adrian Contreras of homicide by child abuse in the death of his 13-month-old son, Isaiah.
The conviction followed a five-day trial in court.
Prosecutors presented evidence showing Isaiah sustained six fractures and numerous unexplained bruises during his life.
A spinal fracture that ruptured his aorta caused his death, according to testimony and evidence presented at trial.
Investigators say they worked the case for several years before it went to trial.
