WMBF News reports that FLORENCE COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - A Lake City man is facing charges after deputies say he pistol-whipped and threatened to shoot a victim following an argument in Florence County.

Deputies with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office arrested Thurman Epps, 36, on Wednesday.

Epps is being charged with pointing and presenting firearms at a person and assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature, among other charges.

These charges stem from an argument on Wednesday at a home on Olanta Highway near Scranton, where deputies say Epps threatened to shoot the victim and hit him in the face with a handgun.

The victim suffered a broken jaw as a result of the assault, according to the sheriff’s office.

Epps is a convicted felon and was prohibited from possessing a firearm at the time, investigators allege.
