Judge assigned in Murdaugh retrial. Here’s what we know about her

WMBF News reports that (FOX Carolina) - The South Carolina Supreme Court has assigned a new judge in the Alex Murdaugh case as it returns for a possible retrial.

In an order dated June 8, Chief Justice John W.

McCaslin has been vested with exclusive jurisdiction over all general sessions matters and motions tied to the case, including any future retrial on the murder charges and related proceedings.

Alex Murdaugh was convicted March 2, 2023, of two counts of murder and two counts of possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.

He was sentenced to life in prison on March 3, 2023.
