‘It’s just a mess’: Officials say lithium batteries could spark more fires at Spartanburg warehouse

WMBF News reports that (FOX Carolina) - Multiple fire departments are responding to a fire at a warehouse in Spartanburg.

According to Spartanburg County Fire Dispatch, a call about a fire at Southeastern Warehousing & Distribution, Inc.

According to Daryl Workman, fire marshal for the North Spartanburg Fire District, said that some batteries have already exploded.

The building is not equipped to store lithium batteries, but no one will take them.

Crews were on scene for over three hours until the batteries burned themselves out.

Workman said that unless something changes, this is likely to happen again and is a drain to their resources.
