WMBF News reports that HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - Horry County Schools is launching a new initiative aimed at reducing screen time in the classroom.
The district said it is implementing a new “Protected Learning” initiative and posted a breakdown of the guidelines on its website.
“Horry County Schools believes that technology is a useful tool; however, like any tool, we must consider the times and tasks most appropriate for its use,” the page reads.
Different grades have different daily screen time guidelines, and a breakdown is available below.
Superintendent Clifford Jones first proposed setting limits during a school board retreat in late April.
