WMBF News reports that HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - A Highway 19 homeowner says he fears for his life when mowing his lawn or checking his mailbox as drivers routinely speed past his home way over the posted limit.

Justin Frankenfield has lived on Highway 19 for 15 years.

He said traffic has increased in recent years, and drivers now regularly pass through the residential area at 60 to 65 mph in a 45 mph zone.

Frankenfield said he is often honked at and yelled at by speeding drivers when he tries to access his mailbox or mow the edge of his lawn during peak traffic hours.

The speeding has also affected mail delivery.

Frankenfield said mail trucks sometimes skip his home and his neighbors’ homes because drivers cannot safely stop with vehicles approaching at high speeds.
