WMBF News reports that MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Grand Strand businesses are taking action to help Venezuela following devastating back-to-back earthquakes the country faced Wednesday.

The earthquakes left thousands injured, thousands displaced and over 1,400 dead.

After witnessing the devastation from their phones in the U.S., Venezuelan business owners in Myrtle Beach wanted to do what they can to help the country by serving as donation drop-off centers for Venezuela.

Arepa Spot is a Venezuelan restaurant located near Robert Grissom Parkway.

Marvine Rodriguez, it’s owner, said his family there does not live near the impacted areas.

However, he said he considers all the people of Venezuela family.
