WMBF News reports that GEORGETOWN, SC (WMBF) - A new leader has been named in the city of Georgetown.
On Friday, it was announced by City Administrator Scott Whittier and Mayor Jay Doyle that Nelson E.
Brown has been selected as the next Chief of Police.
“Chief Brown’s decades of service, proven leadership, and dedication to our community make him exceptionally qualified to lead the Georgetown Police Department,” said Mayor Doyle.
“We are confident that under his leadership, the department will continue its commitment to excellence, professionalism, and building strong relationships with the citizens it serves.” Brown has more than 44 years of law enforcement experience and is currently the Deputy Chief of Police.
“I look forward to working alongside the dedicated men and women of the Georgetown Police Department and continuing our efforts to serve and protect the community with integrity and professionalism,“ Brown said.
