WMBF News reports that GEORGETOWN, SC (WMBF) - The City of Georgetown residents will soon have some utility payment relief.
The Georgetown Mayor and City Council have passed a resolution establishing a Utility Payment Plan set to take effect on July 1 for customers who need assistance paying their utility bills.
The policy is intended to provide customers with financial relief while maintaining accountability for repayment.
Mayor Doyle said the city recognizes that residents are facing financial challenges and that the payment plan is one way the city can assist while continuing to support operations.
“We recognize that some of our residents are facing financial challenges, and implementing a Utility Payment Plan is one way we can provide assistance while also ensuring the City continues to support operations,” Doyle said.
