WMBF News reports that MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Gas prices in the Grand Strand have fallen over 20 cents in the last week.
This decline could help the Myrtle Beach tourism market as the summer travel season begins.
With 90% of Myrtle Beach visitors traveling by car, the price at the pump plays a vital part in who makes the trip.
Visitors said the price of gas affects more than just their wallets.
“Not only affects your pocket, but everything that comes from the grocery store everything has to use fuel to get there- so the shipping costs are more,” said Erik Rempel, a tourist from southern Maryland.
The national average for gas prices is down 17 cents over the last week and 43 cents over the last month.
