The City of Florence announced Thursday, May 21, 2026, that it could receive $193 million from a competitive water and sewer infrastructure grant.

FLORENCE — Upgrades to Florence’s water and sewer systems have been a priority for the city, especially following a sewage leak that polluted a creek running through town.

The city was recently awarded a $1.5 million grant from the Rural Infrastructure Authority for its Jeffries Creek Sewer Project, which would extend the amount of new pipe the city is putting in the ground.
