Florence-Darlington Tech names interim leader days after president resigns

The Post and Courier Pee Dee reports that Debbie Cheek will serve as Florence-Darlington Technical College’s interim president following the resignation of Jermaine Ford, a college spokesperson said.

Jermaine Ford resigned his post as president of Florence-Darlington Technical College in early May 2026.

Hinson is the local editor of The Post and Courier Pee Dee.

Born and raised in the Palmetto State, Hinson graduated from the University of South Carolina.

FLORENCE — The Florence-Darlington County Commission for Technical Education named an interim president for Florence-Darlington Technical College just two days after the school’s president resigned.
