FIRST ALERT: HEAT ADVISORY, heat index reaches 105° through the weekend

WMBF News reports that MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Our hottest stretch of 2026 so far is here through the weekend.

A HEAT ADVISORY is in effect across the Grand Strand and Pee Dee.

This afternoon, the heat index - what it actually feels like on your skin- will reach 100° to 106°.

Air temperatures will hit the low 90s at the beaches and push into the upper 90s across the Pee Dee.

If you are planning to be outside for prolonged periods today, make sure you stay hydrated.

The stretch from 11 AM to 5 PM is when the heat index will be at its worst today.
