Fire at government building in Horry County prompts evacuation

WMBF News reports that HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - Sprinklers extinguished a small fire Monday morning at a government building in the Conway area, prompting a precautionary evacuation.

Horry County Fire Rescue responded at 9:28 a.m.

to the 1000 block of Industrial Park Road after an automatic fire alarm was upgraded to a commercial structure fire call.

Dispatchers reported light smoke throughout the building.

A small fire broke out in a room inside the building.

Sprinklers put out the flames before the fire spread.
