WMBF News reports that MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Several people looking to claim their wristbands for Carolina Country Music Fest left the will-call building empty-handed after allegedly being scammed out of tickets.

Many people online claim they purchased tickets to the festival through a man calling himself Lesesne Smith, sending him thousands of dollars through third-party money apps such as Venmo.

Jessica Patsolic said she sent $1,350 for a single ticket, but when the day came to pick up her wristband, she was left with no ticket at will-call and no response from Smith.

“I mean called him and called him and called him, and he would not answer the phone,” Patsolic said.

I was like, ” Look, if that super VIP ticket is for me, please give me this confirmation number so I can go.

You have my money, and he will not respond.” Suzanne Ellis is in a similar situation, after she says she sent a total of $2,500.
