WMBF News reports that FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) - Juneteenth festivities brought community members out to celebrate Friday, with one Pee Dee event highlighting different types of art in the community.

The second annual Downtown Jubilee celebrated different kinds of artists in the Florence community in honor of Juneteenth.

Hosted by Juneteenth Fest, the jubilee took people along Florence’s art district.

Events included a book and brunch at Liljazzi’s Cafe, art conversations at Weird But Dope Art Studios, art and open mic at the FMU Gately Gallery, and a jazz concert at the FMU Performance Arts Amphitheater.

Co-founder of Juneteenth Fest, Evrik Gary, said the event is a celebration for everyone, and events like this provide opportunities for everyone.

“If you believe in freedom, this is something that you should be celebrating,” Gary said.
