WMBF News reports that (WIS) - The field of Republicans vying to be on the ticket for South Carolina governor this November is now down to two.
Pamela Evette and South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson advanced to a runoff after Tuesday’s primary election.
No candidate in the field received more than 50% of the vote.
The Associated Press called the race with Evette holding a nearly three-point advantage.
Both Evette and Wilson have committed to a debate on June 16 in Conway, with the runoff election taking place the following week on June 23.
Evette led the field with 29.3% of the vote, with Wilson at 26% when the runoff was called.
