WMBF News reports that (WBTV) - A body was found near a college campus in Rowan County on Wednesday.
A Catawba College spokesperson confirmed a person was found dead on June 3 in the school’s ecological preserve.
The college confirmed that the person was not a student, and indicated that the Salisbury Police Department was investigating.
Salisbury police said the person was 38-year-old Carlos Enrique Leon Aristoteles, who was reported missing in Charlotte on May 29.
Police said there was no active threat to the public and that the man’s cause of death was being investigated.
The ecological preserve spans 189 acres next to the Catawba College campus, and is maintained by staffers, students and volunteers.
