WMBF News reports that HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - The Horry County Coroner’s Office has identified the motorcyclist killed after leading a South Carolina Highway Patrol trooper on a chase Sunday in the Conway area.
Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard identified him as Jimmy Gagum, 34.
Around 2:10 a.m., a trooper spotted Gagum traveling at a high rate of speed on Highway 501 North and attempted a traffic stop.
Gagum failed to pull over, sparking a pursuit toward downtown Conway.
He then turned onto Highway 548, lost control, and crashed into a ditch.
Gagum was pronounced dead at the scene.
