WMBF News reports that CONWAY, SC (WMBF) - Crowds gathered in downtown Conway Saturday for the annual Conway Riverfest.
This is the 46th year of the festival, where crowds made their way around town to get into the patriotic spirit ahead of Independence Day.
People enjoyed several free activities throughout the day, such as live entertainment, races out on the water, local vendors, a fireworks show and more.
“My favorite part is the patriotism everybody has so much patriotism around here,” said Myrtle Beach resident Karen Mahmalji, “The red white and blue everybody is wearing and everybody’s in a good mood and just waiting for the big celebration over the next week or so.” New to this year to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary, a live historical re-encampment took place on the town green to highlight the country’s history and to educate others on South Carolina’s impact on the Revolutionary War.
