WMBF News reports that CONWAY, SC (WMBF) - The City of Conway is exploring the possibility of issuing additional food truck licenses within city limits.
The city council passed an ordinance removing the cap on food truck permits within city limits.
About a year ago, the city amended an ordinance that limited the number of food trucks to 20.
“So the second reading or final reading of that ordinance finally just removed the cap of 20, and would leave it up to an administrative policy to remove that cap,” said Jessica Hucks, planning and development director for Conway.
Hucks said the issue over the past year was the first-come, first-served basis for getting a permit.
This led to many food trucks already in operation, unable to keep going into the following year because they didn’t get the application in fast enough.
