WMBF News reports that CONWAY, SC (WMBF) - Conway Medical Center is nearing the end of a year-long project to make all of the windows in the hospital hurricane-proof.
The new windows are impact-resistant and can withstand winds up to 150 miles per hour.
The hospital is also replacing the entire roof.
This is the first upgrade to both structures since the hospital opened more than 40 years ago.
It’s part of their safety initiative to stay prepared for major weather events, including hurricanes.
Chief Administrative Officer Jeff English said the hospital doesn’t shut down when disaster strikes and remains fully operational.
