WMBF News reports that HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - Getting around Horry County by bus is about to get easier and more frequent, according to Coast RTA.
Coast RTA is expanding bus service across the region starting June 7, adding a new route and restoring hourly service on most fixed routes to reduce wait times and improve reliability for riders.
“Our goal is to provide a transit system that better meets the needs of our growing community,” Brian Piascik, CEO of Coast RTA, said.
“These improvements will increase service frequency, strengthen connections between routes, and expand access to important destinations while improving the overall rider experience.” A new Route 11 will provide hourly service connecting Myrtle Beach and Carolina Forest, expanding transit access along River Oaks Drive and Carolina Forest Boulevard.
Route 7 – Myrtle Beach / Airport / Conway Route 7 will receive hourly service, restored afternoon trips to Conway, new service to Myrtle Beach International Airport, and expanded access along the U.S.
Route 15 South – Myrtle Beach / Socastee / Tidelands Route 15 South will restore hourly service and extend to South Strand Medical Center.
