WMBF News reports that HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - A man who helped flood Horry County with more than 120 pounds of cocaine, fentanyl, and heroin, while pocketing more than $5 million, is admitting to his crimes.

Rafael Contreras Ramos, 40, of Mexico, pleaded guilty to conspiring to distribute controlled substances in South Carolina, the U.S.

Attorney’s Office for the District of South Carolina announced Tuesday.

Evidence at a plea hearing showed Contreras led an international drug trafficking organization responsible for bringing more than 55 kilograms, or about 120 pounds, of cocaine, fentanyl, and heroin into South Carolina for further distribution.

The 14 kilograms trafficked into the state could have produced millions of deadly doses.

The DEA said a lethal amount of fentanyl is roughly 2 milligrams, about the size of a few grains of salt.
