WMBF News reports that MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Businesses along Ocean Boulevard reported a busy weekend as thousands of people flooded the Grand Strand for the Carolina Country Music Festival.

Workers described exhaustion following the event, with many saying the crowds exceeded expectations.

“It was crazy; it was probably the busiest I’ve seen it in all three years that I’ve worked down here for CCMF,” said Angel Miller, an employee at Hi-Fi Coffee Bar.

Some businesses said they may have over-prepared for the influx of customers.

“It was quite busy, but I think I did expect it to be a little bit busier; maybe it’s cause we’re an ice cream shop,” said Maria Yepez, an employee at Sugar Twist.

“So, we got all these small waves of people that would come in, and we would get packed, and it would last like two hours.” Employees at Sugar Twist on Ocean Boulevard said they sold out of a lot of product.
