Body recovered during search for missing swimmer in Georgetown County

WMBF News reports that GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - A search for a missing swimmer in Georgetown County ended with the recovery of a body Friday.

The Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office, along with Murrells Inlet-Garden City Fire Rescue, responded to the area of the jetties for the report of a missing swimmer.

The sheriff’s office said crews recovered a body from the water.

The identity of the person has not been released.
