WMBF News reports that MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Crews are expected to finish beach renourishment work in the Arcadian Shores area this weekend as sand placement ramps back up in Myrtle Beach.

The City of Myrtle Beach said Great Lakes Dredge & Dock is expected to complete the remaining Arcadian Shores section near Bear Branch Swash after finishing work north of Singleton Swash in Horry County.

The Arcadian Shores project, a partnership between Horry County and the city, restored areas between Bear Branch Swash and Apache Pier.

Army Corps of Engineers-funded federal project will restart near 48th Avenue North and move south earlier than anticipated due to the arrival of a second dredge.

Officials said most of the beach will remain open, with only active work zones temporarily closed.
